Physical Privacy Act Bill: Protect Your Children in Public Schools

Pat Boone wrote a piece titled: Founding Fathers Legislated Morality and Don Blake of the Virginia Christian Alliance calls upon our Virginia members of House and Senate to read it.   The safety and privacy of our children is at stake.  Inaction on Bob Marshall’s bill 1612, Physical Privacy Act  will only promote the agenda of the radical LGBT special interest groups in our public schools.

But, seems like your legislative leaders are gun shy and do not want to take up the controversy.  The Virginia citizen can change that.  You have heard the mantra “You can’t legislate morality”?  This is a flat out lie when seated in historical context.

“Moral law, whether codified by civil law or not, is absolutely essential to any society’s survival; if history teaches us anything, it reveals that all great governments and states have disintegrated when they became corrupted with immorality — no matter how you define immorality.” Pat Boone

Bob Marshall’s bill, the Physical Privacy Act HB1612, will be blocked from coming to the house floor by Speaker Bill Howell and urge our readers to call him.  Similar actions are rumored at the Senate.

“Only a moral and virtuous people are capable of freedom; the more vicious and corrupt a society becomes—the more it has need of masters.”  Benjamin Franklin

Read Boone’s full article and compare with the lambasting articles against Marshal in the Richmond Times-Dispatch and you will be hard pressed to find a single moral fiber in any of them.  The lame excuse that Governor McAuliffe would simply veto such a bill misses the point.   We must present legislation that will keep our children safe and their privacy secured in the thousands of bathrooms, locker rooms and other places in our public schools.  We the People Demand It

Statement from Don Blake, Virginia Christian Alliance Chairman:

Speaker Bill Howell's Office response to Del. Bob Marshall's HB1612, Student Privacy Act, in protecting the safety and privacy of our children in public school locker rooms, bathrooms and public rest stops was, "oh, that's just Bob being Bob," isn't what we expect of our Speaker of the House of Delegates in Virginia.

As a parent, I expect the government that represents me to take protecting the safety and privacy of all public school children seriously and not to use them in some liberal social experiment.

Call your Delegate today and tell them to tell Bill Howell, enough is enough! Tell them to protect our children from this absurdity. Stand tall for our children and HB 1612!  Call both the House Speaker and Senate Leader below and ask that HB 1612 be allowed for consideration

Press Release from the Virginia First Foundation

Virginia First Foundation is holding a press conference on Thursday January 12th at the Capitol in House Room 1 at 10am. The Physical Privacy Act ensures that safety, privacy, and well-being of all of Virginia’s children are protected.”

This legislation, if passed, will ensure that the privacy of minors is protected and will ensure that no child is unwillingly or unknowingly violated in any way while utilizing public school locker rooms and restrooms. Students wishing to seek private accommodations may still do so, for whatever reason, as long as they do not violate the rights of privacy for other students.

Virginia First Foundation board member, Pastor Travis Witt issued the following statement:

“HB 1612 is a positive and common sense approach to the safety, privacy, and well-being of all of Virginia’s children. To ensure that individual privacy and safety are protected for all of Virginia’s children, this bill must be passed.

It makes adequate provisions for children seeking single-use restrooms when needed and ensures that children are not forced to experience forced physical exposure to the opposite sex against their will. This is a common sense solution for students, parents, administrators, and legislators. We urge all Virginia lawmakers to support this bill.

This bill includes parents in the decision making and every liberty-minded individual supports privacy and safety for all of Virginia’s children. In 2010, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Children's Bureau report entitled, “Child Maltreatment 2010,” highlighted that sexual abuse is not solely restricted to physical contact. Such abuse can include non-contact abuse such as exposure.

The long term effect on children cannot fully be measured. Psychologists have been warning for years that early exposure to sexual issues can have long term damage on children such as early sex, high-risk sex, and sexual violence. Public school facilities are not the place for social experiments that permit early exposure to sexual issues when there is ample evidence that such exposure can lead to long term developmental damage.

The Physical Privacy Act ensures that safety, privacy, and well-being of all of Virginia’s children are protected.”
