Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was [a]formless and void, and darkness was over the [b]surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was [c]moving over the [d]surface of the waters.
"Can the geological ages be understood as occurring in a ‘gap’ between the 1st two verses of Genesis?"
It is widely known that historical geologists currently think the earth originated about 4.6 billion years ago, whereas the Bible indicates that "in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is" (Exodus 20:11).
Furthermore, the chronological data of Genesis 5 and 11 indicate that this all took place only a few thousand years ago. This obvious discrepancy is undoubtedly the most serious problem in the continuing warfare between Biblical Christianity and modern evolutionism.
Creation Bullet #7
We all like to think we are endowed with a normal amount of common sense. Suppose I show you a cube with six sides, like a dice, Each side is numbered and only five sides are visible. If the numbers 1,2,3,4 And 6 are showing on the visible sides, what number is on the bottom?
Creation Bullet #4
Cause and effect: Evolutionists frequently misuse the cause and effect argument to give false support for their beliefs. An example would be rain as a cause and wet ground as the effect. The cause results in the effect. But this cannot be used in reverse.
Bill Nowers, a retired Navy Captain, founder of CREATION & EVOLUTION STUDIES MINISTRY and a Virginia Christian Alliance Advisor has reviewed biology books being considered by Orange county and has written this letter to the County with his concerns. We urge others to be active and interface with our officials.
In our support for God’s creation over Darwinian evolution we should first be aware of the type of false arguments used by atheists in their writings. I use atheist as the source of these arguments but theistic evolutionists believe in the same evolution. The only difference is atheists believe everything happened by chance while theistic evolutionists believe all evolution was directed by God. Every claim of evidence, or proof of macroevolution, is either misleading, irrelevant or false. Since the primary leaders in the evolution movement are atheists, they have no incentive to be limited by moral values.
One question often heard concerning creation and man’s origins, as well as life’s origins, is whether Biblical accounts describing man’s origins and God’s creation of the universe can be trusted. Are the Biblical accounts accurate? Did the creation really occur? Was there really an Adam? an Eve? Was there really a world-wide global flood? There is amazing evidence that many miraculous events described in the Bible actually took place as described by the Bible. In this article we shall look at some of this evidence.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio— The Ohio Supreme Court has granted The Rutherford Institute’s appeal to hear the case of John Freshwater, a Christian teacher who was fired for keeping religious articles in his classroom and for using teaching methods that encourage public school students to think critically about the school’s science curriculum, particularly as it relates to evolution theories. Freshwater, a 24-year veteran in the classroom, was suspended by the Mount Vernon City School District Board of Education in 2008 and officially terminated in January 2011. The School Board justified its actions by accusing Freshwater of improperly injecting religion into the classroom by giving students “reason to doubt the accuracy and/or veracity of scientists, science textbooks and/or science in general.” The Board also claimed that Freshwater failed to remove “all religious articles” from his classroom, including a Bible.
When God presented the account of how He created the world and universe in the Book of Genesis, He gave an explanation that was straight forward and easy to understand. We, of course have no idea of what processes took place when He spoke or when He stretched His hands. But He gave an account that indicated the work was accomplished in a period of what we know was 6 days. He makes it very clear they are 24 hour days when He gives the 10 Commandments. (Exodus 20:11). It takes no theological training for the average person to see what He is saying. In addition the Bible contains genealogies that run from Adam & Eve to Jesus that allow for the calculation of years since Creation which would put the date at approximately 4000 BC.

Was there death before sin? To answer this question let’s consider how this concept is given, who gave it, the character of the one who gave it, what life is, and the reasons for opposition to accepting it’s reality. A command was given on Day Six of the creation week by God to Adam the first man. Eve had not yet been made from Adam’s rib so she did not hear the words God spoke to Adam but was probably, in turn, taught by Adam what God had told him. Originally, the universe was a perfect creation; the Creator Himself said it was very good. In that perfect creation God planted a special garden for his perfect creation, man. Adam was perfect, he had no deterioration of his genetic code, he was strong, his brain worked perfectly, he was a perfect human being. So the background to the entrance to death and sin into our universe is perfection.
The story of Project Nim, recently popularized by a documentary of the same name, begins with a chimp whose mother is tranquilized so that scientists can take the screaming newborn to a new, human, surrogate mother. The goal is to answer the question: can a chimp learn language?
The Creation movement has increasingly caused many to face up to the powerful, Biblical arguments for such things as:
