My new friend (I hope) W. Russell responded to an FAB post earlier this week. He (or she) wrote:
I think you are making a big mistake by linking the pro-life cause with religion. There are people out there like me that are prolife but want nothing to do with religion. Not to mention the fact that “Darwinism” (btw, there is no such thing) has nothing to do with abortion. I am an atheist, believe in evolution, and am pro-life. Why do you want to write me off as an enemy to your cause. You say the biggest treat to children is the belief in evolution and abortion. No, the biggest treat to children is ignorance and the lack of respect for human rights, every human’s rights. One can believe that every human being, born and unborn is deserving of life without believing in a deity. The pro-life cause needs all the support possible. Don’t exclude people because they don’t have the same beliefs as you. If you do, you are just as ignorant as the people who support abortion.
The VA Christian Alliance co-hosted the Virginia Pro-Life Bootcamp along with the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform. Don Blake and Greene Hollowell were instrumental in helping VCA Board Advisor Nicole Cooley and fellow Virginia CBR project director Maggie Egger plan and also provide logistical support for the event.
A second Pro-Life Bootcamp is planned for August 29-30 at Douthat State Park. You can support our next Bootcamp through VCA and noting “Bootcamp” in the remarks section.

This afternoon, The Family Foundation filed suit with the Richmond Circuit Court against Governor Terry McAuliffe's Department of Health and Interim State Health Commissioner, Dr. Marissa Levine, for their failure to respond to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking documentation verifying that the Department of Health fulfilled its legal obligation to report a possible incident of child sexual abuse. The case surrounds a possible violation of the Commonwealth's mandatory reporting of child sexual abuse law by the Roanoke Medical Center for Women. The FOIA request to the Department of Health to determine follow up actions taken by state officials has not been answered in the time required by state law.
The global tragedy of abortion is that, behind the thin veils of human flesh, it accomplishes an ethnic, racial, and gender purging of such efficiency and scale as to make Adolf Hitler appear inconsequential. In the United States, the most recent data indicate that 64% of abortions are obtained by black, Hispanic, and other women of color, despite the fact that they only account for 28% of the population. (Guttmacher Institute; U.S. Census Bureau).
As if that data were not disturbing enough, consider this statistic: since ultrasound technology has enabled parents to identify the gender of their unborn child, 160 MILLION girls have been lost to abortion in Asia alone, triggering a staggering gender imbalance that has demographers wringing their hands.
Last Sunday, Jan. 19, was Sanctity of Life Sunday to mark the 41th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the infamous Supreme Court decision in 1973 that legalized abortion and led to the deaths of some 55 million babies since that time.
But, so what? Does it matter that nearly one out of four babies in America is aborted every day? Does it matter that a disproportionate number of those abortions take place in predominately black communities at Planned Parenthood clinics, an organization with a sordid history of targeting the black community?

The pictures in the article, Rhetorical Crimes on the OP/Ed page, invoked the similarities of socialism under the German Nazis Nationalism, the Russian Marxist Communism and the American Democratic Party's Agenda. Not a good idea to make these comparisons says the writer Kathleen Parker. She asked- 'What is the impulse that drives our need to make such comparisons? Some things are like nothing else- and should be left to rest in peace'.
Earlier this week, VCA’s Vice President for Public Policy, Rita Dunaway, filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, a coalition of 30 female state legislators from across the country, Concerned Women for America, and Susan B. Anthony List. The brief asks the Court to review a recent decision by the 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals which struck down an Arizona law that banned abortion after 20 weeks, except where the mother's life or health is in danger.
Rita Dunaway: "Women Have Been Duped" by Democrats' False Charges
Throughout the campaign for Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General, Democratic candidates are trying to win women’s votes on Nov. 5 by charging “extremist” Republicans with waging a “War on Women”. It includes the claim that they are even trying to ban contraceptives. However, this is totally and indisputably false, and they know it.
Christians are the only ones who can change the abortion culture in Richmond.
Christians will only move when educated and lead by their Pastors. The next important group is Doctors. Abortions can’t be performed if Doctors say ‘NO’ - we will not be involved in killing children.
The following are some suggestions that the Church can consider implementing.
The VCA network launched into action earlier this week to demand that the Richmond Bureau of the Associated Press correct the false statements it has made about pro-life legislation—statements that could very possibly affect the November election.
In Tuesday night’s debate with E.W. Jackson, Ralph Northam claimed that the recent Virginia pro-life bill referred to by some as “personhood” would criminalize oral contraception and in vitro fertilization. This claim is utterly false.
Absolutely not. Consider the following and realize it’s time to take action.
RU-486 - The poison of choice to kill a young, unborn, living human. RU-486 involves two chemicals, specifically designed to kill an innocent child while still in the womb, while it is a painful and bloody experience for the mother.
In response to the West Virginia Attorney General's invitation for public comment on the issue, VCA has requested that the state immediately initiate the process to enact common-sense health and safety regulations for abortion clinics. Reproduced here is the letter, in its entirety:
Dear Attorney General Morrisey,
AN UNBORN CHILD IN THE WOMB IS ALIVE. If it were not alive, it couldn't grow every day. An unborn child in the womb is a human. In spite of the Darwin evolution theory, every product of a woman's womb, since the Creation, has been a human. It is almost comical to even question these facts.
