Sanctity Of Life

When Prayer Is Not Enough

At the last 40 Days for Life kickoff rally, I spoke about the need for pastors to rise up and bring their churches to the abortion mills. Most everyone at the rally agreed with me that the pastors had to lead out in the fight against abortion: all but one person. He was a local pastor that had come to justify what he and his church were doing. After a number of talks, he asked if he could say something. That was all right by me, but I knew what he was going to say.

His church was pro-life and prayed for the pro-life movement. Then he added that they were active in drug prevention, visiting the prison and helping the poor. He believed that abortion was just one of the evils in America and again added they did pray for the pro-life work. He left right after that and I couldn’t get to him.

In the Abortion Debate, the Facts Matter

Many people will not read nor listen to the facts about abortion but show them a picture of the baby that has been ripped apart by the killer doctor and some will change their minds. This is the reason the PRO LIFE ON CAMPUS ministry shows the pictures to our college kids. Many don’t like it but some have to change their minds if there is an honesty in them.

Fletcher Armstrong | Townhall

In the world of pro-life activism, some pro-lifers have a rather disparaging but also confusing view of abortion victim photos (AVPs) as a tool for pro-life activism.

They don’t necessarily rule out the use of AVPs altogether, recognizing that they are “a tool in the toolkit.” But they believe AVPs should be employed only under limited circumstances, without ever specifying what those limitations should be. They unfairly associate displaying AVPs with screaming at women and other uncivilized behavior.

Just Decision Made for Baby Justice

VIRGINIA CHRISTIAN ALLIANCE supports the CENTER FOR BIO-ETHICAL REFORM as they bring the displays of aborted babies to Virginia universities, comparing them with other acts of genocide.

One of our CBR-Southeast Project Directors spoke in her church about her ministry with CBR. This pro-life church already supports CBR, but in her presentation she showed first-trimester abortion victim photos. This was a first for her church. These photos are essential to awaken the conscience of the church to fight the evil of abortion.

She did not know that a young woman in the congregation was scheduled to abort the following Saturday because she was pregnant as a result of a gang rape. God spoke to “Melanie’s” heart. After seeing the CBR abortion victim photos, she knew she couldn’t abort her child and she told her parents about the rape. With their support, she made the courageous decision to carry her baby to term and then placed him for adoption with a family from the church. Justice was born earlier this year and Melanie gave CBR permission to share his photo with our supporters. Melanie is now in a college ROTC program and she’s starting a Students for Life club on her campus. Pray for God to bless her and dear little Justice.

GAP Pierces through Lies at CSULB

VIRGINIA CHRISTIAN ALLIANCE supports the CENTER FOR BIO-ETHICAL REFORM as they bring the displays of aborted babies to Virginia universities, comparing them with other acts of genocide.

Students at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), were faced with the harsh reality of abortion on April 7-8, 2015. No longer can their pro-abortion professors effectively lie to them and offer catchy phrases like “choice” and “reproductive freedom.” CBR’s Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) pierces those lies by using massive photomurals (12 x 6 feet each) to contrast abortion to other recognized genocides. Students will never think of abortion as they did before seeing GAP.

Richmond Times Dispatch: Hundreds Protest in Richmond at Planned Parent Clinic

More than 500 Including Women and Children

It was actually more than 500 men, women and children lining both sides of Hamilton Street.  The practically windowless multimillion dollar building Leslie Blackwell, protest leader, refers to as a “butcher shop".

NBC12 - WWBT - Richmond, VA News On Your Side

Blackwell spoke to the largest assembly of prolife groups of its kind in Richmond in many a year. The event was sponsored by a partnership of area and national prolife groups.

The large peaceful assembly stood patiently and quietly for almost two hours as speakers spoke about Planned Parenthood’s harvesting and selling of baby body parts. They held their signs, many hand made, and listened to a half dozen speakers including VCA Board Member Terry Beatley who talked about the origins of Planned Parenthood and NARAL.

A Response: The Real Question About the Fetal Body Parts Industry

Terry Beatley | Fairfax Free Citizen
Hosea Initiative

Editor’s Note. The above article responds to comments to the Planned Parenthood article presented here in the Fairfax Free Citizen.

How do we want our government to look at us—as creatures or as Creations?

The former co-founder of NARAL (NARAL Pro-Choice America) had some strong opinions about this question when I met with him, and so did America’s founding fathers, whose answers can be found in the Declaration of Independence. In light of the recent undercover Planned Parenthood videos, which demand this question to be asked, it is even more relevant today than in yesteryear. The stakes are high—creature or Creation?

I’d bet that the staunchest atheist and I can agree that we would rather be viewed as Creations because history has made it bloody clear what happens when people are viewed as mere creatures of the state.

The Negro Project 2.0

I distinctly remember the moment that I first wrestled with the problem of abortion. Like many young men of my generation, I had always assumed that if abortion was legal it must be okay. Since Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton—which made it illegal to restrict abortion in any stage of pregnancy were decided when I was just five years old, I had never really considered the fact that the legality of abortion was relatively new.

I grew up in a small country town and was not aware of anyone I knew ever terminating a pregnancy. On occasion women and girls had children out of wedlock, of course, and this I understood to be regrettable. Yet, whether these were children of neighbors, friends or relatives, they were welcomed, doted on, cared for and seemed to turn out as well as those of us who had been born well after our parents’ weddings. It would have never occurred to me growing up that children conceived out of wedlock to young mothers would have terrible lives and thus  might be better off dead.

Letter to the Editor: Great Destroyer of Peace is Abortion

Greene Hollowell 2012 150A

Maybe the following will help explain the killings at Charleston, Virginia Tech, the movie theater, the Jewish Center, the children’s school and some of the other recent violent outrages.

The mother’s right to abortion, made legal by the Supreme Court and affirmed by the majority of the American people, has left the recent generation of people know their mother could have had them killed without any concern.  They know society does not look at their life as precious, to be protected.

I think Mother Teresa’s statement sums it up- ‘The great destroyer of peace is abortion because if a mother can kill her own child, what is left for me to kill you and you to kill me? There is nothing between.’

The Problem Is They’re Killing the Solution to Social Security’s Demise

Tom C Lacy croppedBy Rev. Thomas C. Lacy Social Security (SS) is a critical political issue. Government officials are trying to find help for the beleaguered system. Some look to the current, so-called, wave of an economic up-turn to overcome SS’s ills. Others say contributors to the system should invest a portion of their own money elsewhere to insure secure futures. Privatization, some claim, is the solution.

The problem is they are killing the solution. None of these solutions will succeed in rescuing SS for the long term. The greatest deterrents to the growth of SS are abortion, RU-486 and Zero Growth Population movements to be addressed later.

According to Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Social Security Administration (SSA) and U. S., Bureau of Labor Statistics (LBS) about 154 million people will work in SS covered jobs or self-employment. The average income per worker in 1998 was $27,748 and the average reported taxable amount was $23,651. Multiplying the average taxable income by the combined SS (employee/employer) tax rate of 12.4%, we find $2,932.72 was the average paid into SS by each worker.

Gosnell’s “House of Horrors”

Martin Fox | National Pro-Life Alliance

I'm sure you remember the result of abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell’s trial for murder. Even after persuading the judge to bump all pro-lifers off the jury, not even his slick lawyer could stop the jury of 12 from unanimously finding him guilty of 3 counts of murder.
But even more importantly, the case gave America a clear picture of what abortion is really about. Of course, Gosnell’s “House of Horrors” was first exposed when the FBI and Pennsylvania state police raided the abortuary for prescribing drugs illegally.

They got more than they bargained for. It turned out that this wasn’t just your run of the mill drug bust.  The officers who raided the clinic were stunned at the grisly scene inside. (Warning: what I'm going to describe now is hard to hear.)

Dismembered baby parts were everywhere -- in milk jugs, bags, cat food cartons, even in the refrigerator next to staff lunches. In the basement they found a macabre trophy collection of severed babies feet, lined up in jars.

"Black Lives Matter": Born & Unborn

Black Lives Matter image

The Presbyterian Church, USA is among the main line denominations that support abortion. However they have a ministry, PRESBYTERIANS PRO-LIFE, that tries to change the church by research, education and care. It is a near hopeless task but we are thankful that there are those that will continue the fight. Please read the article BLACK LIVES MATTER by Marie Bowen, PPL Executive Director. Blacks riot when police kill blacks resisting arrest but seem to care less when their babies are killed by abortion.

Marie Bowen | Presbyterians Pro-Life

During Black History Month as we reflect and repent of our nation's sins of racism, let's take a hard look at the racial discrimination that continues against black lives in the womb.

For a white over 60 woman to wade into the topic of young black lives lost is a little like walking into a minefield. Whatever I say is bound to make someone angry—well, so be it. The truth about any violent death is hard to decipher. It is no wonder that the laws of the Old Testament required two or three witnesses to condemn someone of a crime. Even when we hear multiple accounts, we often do not know which sources can be trusted.

Physicians Answer Ethics Questions

Physician ethics and life issues

Bradley Mattes | Life Issues Institutes

The battle for life rages on many fronts these days. With serious faces, legislators debate whether babies feel pain, as if pain defines whether life should continue.

Here at Life Issues Institute, our mission has always been to protect human life, from fertilization through natural death. Between those two moments we humans work out who we are, what we believe and what sort of mark we'll leave on the world.

Perhaps few face those questions with more opportunities to make a mark than physicians. As the art and science of medicine advances, doctors deal with increasingly complex situations—and then they have to act. It's one thing for us to decide what we believe as pro-lifers; it's a step further to put belief into action that literally can mean life or death.
