Last Sunday, Jan. 19, was Sanctity of Life Sunday to mark the 41th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the infamous Supreme Court decision in 1973 that legalized abortion and led to the deaths of some 55 million babies since that time.
But, so what? Does it matter that nearly one out of four babies in America is aborted every day? Does it matter that a disproportionate number of those abortions take place in predominately black communities at Planned Parenthood clinics, an organization with a sordid history of targeting the black community?
In addition, would it matter to you if your Democratic legislator routinely votes to kill every pro-life bill that comes up in the General Assembly or the U.S. Congress? And even though you might not like those votes, would you still support him because he and his party claim to be on your side on issues of “race”?
On top of that, if you are a white woman, how can you get past historic black/white tensions to capture the attention of black leaders, including pastors, who may not know about or be unwilling to admit any of this because of their customary support of the pro-abortion Democrat Party?
That woman is our guest on Valley Faith in Action. Terry Beatley is the Founder and President of “No Excuse Ministry“, which is dedicated to mobilizing the church to defend the sanctity of human life.
We’ll ask how she came to this passion for life and how she responds to the “excuses” that people – and churches — often give for being silent on the life issue.
Finally, find out how she was able to build pro-life alliances and black voter turnout in Fredericksburg where she lives.
