🙏 Why Gather in Prayer?

The National Day of Prayer is more than a tradition—it’s a spiritual responsibility and a moment to unify across denominations, generations, and races. In these uncertain times, we need to boldly pray for our:

We would appreciate your donation.

  • Government leaders
  • First responders and law enforcement
  • Churches and families
  • Schools and youth
  • Revival and awakening in America

This year’s theme urges us to “Lift Up the Word – Light Up the World.” As believers, we recognize that God’s Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105). We gather not to protest, but to proclaim: God is our hope.

✝️ Be the Church in the Public Square

By gathering at the Chesterfield Courthouse or the Bell Tower at Capitol Square, we stand in the heart of our civic communities, offering a public witness that God is still on the throne and that His people still believe in the power of prayer.

🙌 Spread the Word—Bring a Friend

Whether you attend in Chesterfield or Richmond, make it a point to show up, pray boldly, and invite others. Our nation needs believers who are not ashamed to call on the name of the Lord in the public square. Let’s unite in faith, seek His face, and trust Him to heal our land.

Let’s seek the Lord together on May 1st. Because when God’s people pray, He listens.

About the Author

Virginia Christian Alliance
The mission of the VIRGINIA CHRISTIAN ALLIANCE is to promote moral, social and scientific issues we face today from a Biblical point of view. In addition we will refute and oppose, not with hate, but with facts and humor, the secular cultural abuses that have overridden laws and standards of conduct of the past. We will encourage Christians to participate in these efforts through conferences, development of position papers, booklets and tracts, radio/TV spots, newspaper ads and articles and letters-to-the editor, web sites, newsletters and providing speakers for church and civic meetings.
