If you are concerned about the direction of America today, there is hope.  If you want to help restore America to its Biblical foundations, there is a need.  And if you participated in or saw reports about the “Restoring Honor” rally in Washington last Saturday — but are still uncertain about what you can actually do, there are five simple steps we can take together to help achieve a “National Restoration”.

Those steps are listed below, followed by an invitation to participate in five events that can help carry us toward that goal.  Contact the Forum as noted below for reservations, where required.

The Five-Step Strategic Plan:

Remembrance:  We must know where we came from in order to know who we are and where we are going.  We have a rich Judeo-Christian heritage in America, and we must keep that flame of faith and freedom alive.

Repentance:  As Israel did so often (see Ps. 106), we too have disobeyed God in many ways.  So, as II Chron. 7:14 says, only when we humble ourselves, and pray, and seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways, will God hear our prayers, forgive our sins, and heal our land.

Revival:   Just as the two Great Awakenings in the 18th and 19th centuries were spiritual events that stirred Americans toward freedom from British tyranny and from the shackles of slavery, so we too must have a spiritual revival that returns us to our Godly heritage.

Renewal:   With our hearts revived, a moral renewal will inevitably follow throughout our culture to protect the unborn from the moment of conception, to strengthen the institution of marriage, and to safeguard our freedoms.  (Go to www.manhattandeclaration.org for details.)

Restoration:  As George Washington emphasized in his Farewell Address, religion and morality are indispensable supports for our political prosperity.  Therefore, by working with our pastors and legislators, we can help rebuild America on its Biblical foundations.

About the Author

Virginia Christian Alliance
The mission of the VIRGINIA CHRISTIAN ALLIANCE is to promote moral, social and scientific issues we face today from a Biblical point of view. In addition we will refute and oppose, not with hate, but with facts and humor, the secular cultural abuses that have overridden laws and standards of conduct of the past. We will encourage Christians to participate in these efforts through conferences, development of position papers, booklets and tracts, radio/TV spots, newspaper ads and articles and letters-to-the editor, web sites, newsletters and providing speakers for church and civic meetings.
