Obedience to God

Are Christians any Better?

Many Christians are buying into the world’s trust in man’s capabilities and potential, redirecting faith away from God’s goodness to our own.  It is also becoming increasingly common to distinguish and distance ourselves from a culture run amuck, taking some measure of pride in our relative virtue and piety.

Owned by Culture

Culture produces a way of thinking and therefore living.
Throughout Scripture, the Bible tracks two cities and the respective cultures they produce: Babylon and Zion (aka New Jerusalem). Every single one of us is owned by one of those city’s culture. Until we are saved, baptized, and filled with the Holy Spirit we are just like the apostles before Pentecost: owned by the culture of Babylon without even knowing it.

An Urgent Call to a Holy Uprising

A missionary with the China Inland Mission wrote to Betty’s parents: “A life which had the longest span of years might not have been able to accomplish one-hundredth of the work for Christ which they have done in a day.” That is the power of martyrdom!

Pray for Protection: Christian, Pray this Prayer and Say it Aloud

Almighty God – You are the Alpha, the Omega, the Beginning and the End.  For by YOU, all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; ALL things have been created through YOU and FOR YOU (Col 1:16).

I come to you today Jesus, in prayer, supplication, and intercession and give thanks for you are Holy, mighty, all-knowing and that you love us unconditionally. I put on the armor of light. I take up the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, I declare that my feet are covered with the preparation of the gospel of peace, and I take up the shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. You have prepared a table before us in the presence of our enemies. You anoint our heads with oil; our cups overflow with blessings (Psalm 23:5).
