Exodus Now

Bishop E.W. Jackson, Chairman of Ministers Taking a STAND (Staying True to America’s National Destiny) hosted a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. to address the cultural issues destroying our nation’s foundation (Biblical truth). He stated that “we are not here to endorse the Republican party or candidate … we are here to say to Christians and believing Jews that the Democratic party is opposed to our Biblical values.” Bishop Jackson called for a mass exodus—Christians, Jews, Blacks, Whites, Hispanics—out of the Democratic party due to their views, including adding same-sex marriage to the Democratic platform.

Retired Lt. General Jerry Boykin is highly decorated Army lieutenant general. He has defended our country’s freedom for 37 years in that role. He proclaimed that he swore to uphold the Constitution and to protect our country from all enemies, foreign and domestic. He spoke of the family structure being ripped apart and that the Democrat party is condoning it by its own agenda. He closed by saying, “As long as I draw breath, I will” fight this fight.

Rosa Hernandez Brown of Exodus Faith Ministries in Boston, Massachusetts provided examples of governmental overreach in her hometown. Boston’s mayor’s “bullying” of Chik-fil-A over its views on same-sex marriage. She also mentioned that a school department had been sued because one parent does not want children to recite the pledge of allegiance because the words “under God” are contained therein. Quoting Luke, she said that “Jesus said that you would be brought before kings and rulers before my sake.” Proverbs 15:29 states that the Lord is far from the wicked, but will hear the righteous.

Bill Cook, with the Black Robe Regiment of Virginia, explained his movement. He stated that we pray, “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” but we don’t always vote that way. The divide is between light and darkness, lies and truth. Truth will enthusiastically stand alone—if need be. He closed by saying “On November 6, be colorblind, vote American.”

Rabbi Carlos Parker of Richmond, Virginia, a VCA Advisory Board member. He spoke to the Hispanic community in Spanish. Stand firm and boldly on biblical principles. Message simple and shrot. I will not stand with the democratic party .. denounced God, Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and endorsed same-sex marriage. On 9/11 God gave us a message that we are arrogant and defiant. Only two countries were founded on the word of God—Israel and the United States. He challenged us to either “Choose a blessing or choose a curse.”

Lt. Col. Frederick Peterson, New York began with these words: “Before the cock crows, thou shall thrice deny me.” These were his thoughts when he witnessed the three calls for a vote at the Democratic party convention — against God, traditional interpretations of marriage and family by God. Lt. Col. Peterson was once a chairman of the young democrats in Connecticut. He stated that the party “has left us, we are not leaving it… Separating one’s self from the party “is a moral obligation, not a choice… Go back to your communities and become leaders in this great cause. We have common cause; pick up that cause and ACT. It is your obligation. It is your privilege to be called. Let’s recover our families, future and our freedom.”

Sonnie Johnson, former President of the Virginia chapter of the Frederick Douglass Foundation, stated that “she stands before you as a sinner.” She spoke passionately about her community and stated that “people in my community are dying—literally … in front of beautiful churches.” She said that it’s the church’s job to take care of the poor, feed the hungry and bring them to Christ; it’s not the government’s job. Look at Chicago with its destruction and death. She stated that “our voices are getting stronger.” Remember “With God all things are possible, not government.”

Randy Tyler, a lay Christian started by stating that he was always a Democrat and thought that Republicans hated black people. In 2004, his eyes were opened. He dedicated his life to Jesus Christ. He saw that the Democrat party stood for abortion and he rejects that view. He declared that the “life of the church and the life of America is on the line … vote righteousness.”

Daniel Hollers, while holding his 8 month old son, stated that he was a descendant of slaves.   He reminded us that “men of faith fought slavery,” and became emotional when he said that “men of faith should stand up for our children.” Defiant against the Democrat party, he declared that “we will defend life and stand strong for what is right.”

Dean Welty, a VCA Board member and Director of Valley Family Forum began with some questions that he had asked—What has happened to my church, what has happened to my country? He said that “God fearing Americans should leave the democrat party.” “Life is the first of three inalienable rights—a gift from God, not government. 54 million unborn babies since 1973 and the Democrat party is a champion of that destruction.” “The second reason is the disregard for marriage and the family. Family is cornerstone of our nation and society with the biblical definition of marriage. Democratic party wants to overturn the defense of marriage act and offer same sex partnerships.” He closed by announcing that we should “Exodus and exodus NOW!”

Bishop Jackson thanked everyone for attending and reminding them that this is not the end, this is the beginning.” He noted that there will be a nationwide campaign on Christian radio stations and sending an open letter to the church community.

Say to the Democrat party: “Let God’s people go!”
