“All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name” is a classic Christian hymn often referred to as the “National Anthem of Christendom.” Written by Edward Perronet in 1779, this hymn celebrates the supreme authority and glory of Jesus Christ. It has been sung by believers for centuries, proclaiming Jesus as King and Lord over all.


Edward Perronet, an English clergyman and a contemporary of John and Charles Wesley, penned this hymn during a period of great evangelical awakening. The hymn was intended to inspire Christians to acknowledge and worship the mighty power and authority of Jesus Christ. Its stirring lyrics call believers to honor Jesus, who, by His sacrifice and resurrection, is exalted as the King of kings and Lord of lords.
