Thirty-fourth in a series

Sometimes the Qur’an leads one to Jesus. The video link below contains Mario Joseph’s testimony. Mario was born a Muslim; a birth his parents never thought would come. His mother dedicated the child to Allah if he lived, and he became an imam at the age of 17. Mario’s life changed when he was asked one simple question. “Who is Jesus?”

Mario’s quest to answer that question as an imam, took him through the Qur’an and other materials. He recounts his path of coming to know God and serving Him at a retreat center in India. His conversion experience is not unusual in many respects. I’ve heard similar stories from several others. His testimony is his experience, and one cannot easily argue with another’s experience.

Mario points out that one of the greatest weapons we have in defeating Islam’s ideology is the Qur’an itself. Within its inconsistencies the truth can be found. Difficulties exist because only about 15% of Islam’s followers speak Arabic. Further, Islam teaches that the Qur’an can only be fully understood in Arabic. Translations to any other language at most merely convey the Qur’an’s meaning. But, for us to be effective, we must first know the truth ourselves to both defend it and lead others to it.

Mario’s testimony does not condemn, but shows how God’s light was first shown in his life. It is what we as Christians are meant to do. The video is about thirty-four minutes long and can be found at:

About the Author

Dan Wolf
Dan Wolf is a researcher and analyst; examining complex, abstract topics. His writing’s premise is based on one simple idea. We do not receive the benefits of God’s gifts unless we are turned toward Him. Each generation needs to learn this lesson to pass on what’s important. What are those gifts? Freedom, faith, and grace among others. Our Founders considered education, religion, morality, and virtue to be the cornerstones for any successful society. Success requires an education in both the languages of reason and faith, reason alone is not enough. Unfortunately, our education system today no longer teaches what we need to be successful, so we risk losing our way. But it is not too late. In the end we each have the freedom to choose, and the ability to learn. There are many who have already blazed a trail for us; we only need the will to embrace the challenge and make the effort. Together we will restore the societal foundation that our Founder’s, and many after them, fought and died for. The choice is ours. My goal is to assist you on your way.
