“Bring Your Bible To School Day” October 4th (hashtag #BringYourBible).
Being a Christian is more than going to a building on Sundays. It’s about becoming Christ-like and sharing the message of Jesus to others. During the next two weeks, the Virginia Christian Alliance will send out helpful ideas to assist you in participating in “Bring Your Bible To School Day”.
On October 4th, you have an opportunity to introduce your classmates to the Bible, God’s Word. The spokesperson for this year’s Bring Your Bible To School Day is Sadie Robertson. Here is her message to you. CLICK HERE
This call is to all students from kindergarten to college. Be a voice of hope to classmates. Use #BringYourBible on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to spread the word nationally.
“YES” it is legal to take your Bible to school.
MYTH # 1 Students Can’t Read The Bible or Pray At Public School
Fact: Students have the right to talk about their religious beliefs, pray, read scriptures and invite other students to join them in these activities — as long as students are voluntarily participating and not disrupting school instruction time.
MYTH # 2 Students Can’t Distribute Religious-Themed Materials At Public School
Fact: Schools cannot impose an outright ban on religious-themed materials if they already allow students to distribute non-religious materials. But schools can prohibit distribution that is disruptive.
Students still have rights protected under the U.S. Constitution. Be the salt. Share your faith. The Bible has a powerful message of hope and love for all.
Virginia Christian Alliance wholehearted supports Bring Your Bible To School Day sponsored by Focus on The Family.
