Tim Wildmon | The Stand
Ron DeSantis is a rock star! Well, actually, I don’t know if he sings or plays the electric guitar or not, but I do know he is the governor of Florida. And he is quickly moving up the list of candidates who conservatives would like to see run for president in 2024. In the meantime, DeSantis is doing a fantastic job of standing for freedom and moral values in the Sunshine State.
Just in the last few months, Gov. DeSantis (R) has taken on the liberal social media giants, stood against boys being allowed in girls’ sports competitions, spoken out against Critical Race Theory (CRT), and kept his state free from the ridiculous restrictions other more liberal states have imposed on their citizens in the name of COVID-19 “safety.”
In a nutshell, CRT promotes Marxist ideology and teaches that white people are what’s wrong with the world. Some public schools (and even some private schools) are adopting CRT into their curricula.
“There is no room in classrooms for things like Critical Race Theory,” DeSantis said.
I bring up Gov. DeSantis as an example of a good public official who understands how to fight for constitutional liberty and who doesn’t mind taking on all the “progressive” special interest groups that seek to undermine our values that made America great in the first place.
In many ways, DeSantis is like former President Donald Trump, but he has enough discipline to avoid shooting himself in the foot. I respected the former president in so many ways, but I believe his tendency to hurt himself costs him – and his party – some support he otherwise would have had.
But back to good government leaders. There is a revolution against the agenda of the hard Left, and it’s being led by legislatures and governors in red (conservative) states. This is encouraging to see! Here are a few examples:
- Georgia passed a voter integrity law and stood firm when the mainstream media, the president, and the corporate world came down on their head. Several other states including Texas, Michigan, and Pennsylvania are working on similar legislation.
- Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Idaho have passed laws protecting girls’ sports. Many other states are expected to follow suit soon.
- Idaho has already banned CRT, and at the time of this writing, a slew of other states are strongly considering doing the same, including Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, South Carolina, Louisiana, Rhode Island (blue state), West Virginia, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and New Hampshire.
As you know, we have a lot of problems in our country right now, and I don’t know if we can reverse this downward spiral we are in. But in order for big change to occur, first and foremost, we must pray for Almighty God to intervene and bring massive revival among millions of our fellow Americans.
Honestly, we need a spiritual “game changer.” Something along the lines of a Third Great Awakening is what’s needed.
Second, we need more governors, state attorneys general, and state legislatures standing up to what in many ways has become tyrannical federal government.
And third, we need more troops. We need our fellow Christians to get their heads out of the sand and start fighting for our freedoms, or else we will lose them to the secular Left, and they will seek to round us all up and put us in reeducation camps. I’m not kidding.
Rest assured, our American Family Association is doing all we can to push back against the God-haters trying to destroy our country. Thanks for standing with us!
