Charles Stanley: What Does Obedience To God Require

Obeying God is not an option for believers; it is a requirement.

So what does it take to move from disobedience to obedience?

Steps to obey God include recognizing God’s sovereignty, forsaking sin, and surrendering our will to Him. Obedience may seem tough, but what God requires He enables through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Dr. Stanley’s motivation is best represented by the truth found in Acts 20:24,

“Life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about God’s mighty kindness and love.” Living Bible (TLB)

This is because, as he says, “It is the Word of God and the work of God that changes people’s lives.”
