Despite the covenant created between those first settlers in 1607 and God, Americans turned their backs on Him when they decided to allow godless government to educate their children in defiance of the Bible’s clear admonitions, explains Alex Newman during his speech at the First Landing 1607 Project. Only obedience can restore the United States, he added.
The event was about re-dedicating America to God, remembering the first settlers to arrive in Virginia 416 years ago who formed a covenant with God upon arrival. At the First Landing ceremony in 1607, under the leadership of Rev. Hunt, the English Christians dedicated the new land to Christ and asked Him to use it to spread the Kingdom of God worldwide.
“We do hereby dedicate this Land, and ourselves, to reach the People within these shores with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to raise up Godly generations after us, and with these generations take the Kingdom of God to all the earth,” declared Rev. Hunt after months of traveling on ships to arrive in America, where they planted a large cross on a hill.
“May this Covenant of Dedication remain to all generations, as long as this earth remains, and may this Land, along with England, be Evangelist to the World,” Hunt added. “May all who see this Cross, remember what we have done here, and may those who come here to inhabit join us in this Covenant and in this most noble work that the Holy Scriptures may be fulfilled.”
Speaking to hundreds of God-fearing patriots including top military leaders and fellow speakers such as Glenn Beck and Michelle Bachmann, Newman said obedience to God on the education and discipling of children would be a precursor to any restoration of the nation. He also explained that true liberty can only exist in a Christian society.
Other speakers included historian Bill Federer, Father James Altman, scholar David Barton, author Dr. John Diamond, Congressional Wives Prayer Breakfast founder Nancy Schulze, Rev. Jack Stagman, author and speaker Donica Hudson, Virginia Christian Alliance founder Don Blake, and more.
The event was livestreamed to hundreds of thousands of viewers around the world in 72 languages.
