The World Looks Away While Christians Are Slaughtered

Muslim persecution of Christians

A Global Pattern of Persecution

Every month, Christians across the Islamic world suffer unimaginable violence. Massacres, kidnappings, forced conversions, and the destruction of churches have become routine — and the mainstream media largely ignores it. Raymond Ibrahim has once again compiled the record for July 2025, and the accounts are heartbreaking.

Highlights from July 2025 include:

  • Nigeria: Fulani militants slaughtered dozens of believers, including pastors, women, and children. In Plateau State, a 3-month-old baby was among 32 Christians massacred while soldiers nearby failed to intervene. Survivors begged: “We are tired of burying our loved ones, tired of seeing our heritage destroyed.”

  • Democratic Republic of Congo: Islamic terrorists stormed a Catholic church, murdering at least 40 Christians during worship and leaving dozens of bodies scattered on the ground.

  • Uganda: A Christian convert, Kasajja Abdul Maliki, was murdered by his own relatives while praying with his Bible — stabbed through the chest as they cried “Allahu Akbar.”

  • Pakistan: A 14-year-old Christian girl was raped at gunpoint by a Muslim man, then targeted again when her family tried to pursue justice. Other children were beaten simply for drinking water from a Muslim’s glass.

  • Syria & Sudan: Churches were bombed, looted, and demolished, while believers were hunted and punished for refusing to submit to Islamic authorities.

Governments Stay Silent

These atrocities take place in full view of governments that do little or nothing. Nigerian soldiers stood by as villages were burned. Pakistani judges downplayed gang rapes and ignored forced conversions. Western governments are largely mute and the Trump administration has done nothing and seem unwilling to confront the reality that Christians are systematically targeted for their faith.

But God is not silent. He hears the cries of His people, and He will judge with righteousness.

The False God vs. the True God

The god of Islam demands blood, fear, and domination. His followers chant “death to infidels” as they burn villages, enslave women, kill children and desecrate churches. This is not the God of Scripture.

The true God — the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob — reveals Himself in Jesus Christ. He is:

  • Holy – never delighting in evil (Habakkuk 1:13).

  • Love – giving His own Son for sinners (John 3:16).

  • Just – punishing sin, but offering mercy through the cross (Romans 3:26).

  • Peace – commanding His people to love their enemies (Matthew 5:44).

  • Life – raising the dead and giving eternal hope (John 11:25).

Where Allah demands death, Christ gives life. Where Islam enforces submission by the sword, Jesus calls hearts to freely repent and believe.

The Hope That Remains

The governments of this world turn a blind eye. But God sees, God hears, and God will act. For every martyr, there is a crown of life. For every persecutor, there awaits judgment unless they repent and bow before the one true King, Jesus Christ.

Persecution proves again that false gods bring only death. But the gospel of Jesus Christ brings eternal life — and this is the hope no sword can ever destroy.

About the Author

Virginia Christian Alliance
The mission of the VIRGINIA CHRISTIAN ALLIANCE is to promote moral, social and scientific issues we face today from a Biblical point of view. In addition we will refute and oppose, not with hate, but with facts and humor, the secular cultural abuses that have overridden laws and standards of conduct of the past. We will encourage Christians to participate in these efforts through conferences, development of position papers, booklets and tracts, radio/TV spots, newspaper ads and articles and letters-to-the editor, web sites, newsletters and providing speakers for church and civic meetings.
