Dear Christian:
You know November 4th is important. You understand the biblical mandate to vote. However, many believers feel paralyzed between conviction and confusion. This Virginia Christian voters preparation guide will show you exactly what to do. What specific steps should you take right now to prepare faithfully?
The reality is that most Christians mean well but never move from intention to action. Consequently, they wake up on Election Day unprepared, overwhelmed, and tempted to stay home. Furthermore, without proper Virginia Christian voters’ preparation, even committed believers often skip races or guess on amendments. This doesn’t have to be you.
Today, I’m giving you a simple, biblical action plan. Five concrete steps. No confusion. No excuses. Just faithful stewardship of your citizenship.
Why Virginia Christian Voters Preparation Can’t Wait
Let me be direct: We have 12 days.
In 12 days, Virginia will decide:
- Whether unlimited abortion becomes a constitutional right
- Whether marriage will be redefined in our state constitution
- Who will govern Virginia for the next four years
- Which party controls the House of Delegates
- The future of religious liberty, parental rights, and the sanctity of life
Moreover, once these constitutional amendments pass, they cannot be easily undone. This isn’t a temporary policy—it’s a permanent change to Virginia’s founding document.
Scripture warns: “The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it“ (Proverbs 22:3). Therefore, Virginia Christian voters who see the danger must act. Here are your five essential preparation steps.
Step 1: Get Your Personalized Ballot Information (10 Minutes)
Do this TODAY. Not tomorrow. Today.
Visit the Virginia Christian Voter Guide and click on either:
- vavoterguide.com – Enter your address
- ivoterguide.com – Enter your address
In less than 10 minutes, you’ll see exactly what’s on YOUR specific ballot:
- Your governor candidates
- Your lieutenant governor candidates
- Your attorney general candidates
- Your House of Delegates race
- Both constitutional amendments with analysis
Why this matters: Virginia has 100 House of Delegates districts. Your ballot is unique to your address. Furthermore, you cannot vote intelligently without knowing what’s actually on your ballot.
The excuse eliminated: “I don’t know what’s on my ballot” is no longer valid. These tools exist. Use them.
Biblical principle: “The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty“ (Proverbs 21:5). Diligent Virginia Christian voters do the research.
Step 2: Research Every Candidate Using Biblical Principles (30 Minutes)
Once you know what’s on your ballot, it’s time to research. However, don’t rely on:
- Political ads (they’re designed to manipulate)
- Social media posts (they’re often misleading)
- Party labels alone (Republicans aren’t automatically biblical; Democrats aren’t automatically enemies)
Instead, use the faith-based voter guides compiled at our comprehensive resource page:

What to look for in candidates:
Scripture gives us a framework in Exodus 18:21: “Look for able men from all the people, men who fear God, who are trustworthy and hate a bribe.”
Ask these questions:
- Able: Does this candidate have the competence to lead?
- Fear God: Do they recognize authority higher than themselves?
- Trustworthy: Does their record match their promises?
- Hate a bribe: Are they incorruptible, or controlled by donors?
Additionally, examine where they stand on:
- Sanctity of life (abortion, euthanasia)
- Biblical marriage and sexuality
- Religious liberty (can Christians operate according to conviction?)
- Parental rights (who controls your children’s education?)
- Constitutional fidelity (do they honor their oath?)
Time investment: Spend 5 minutes per race. If you have 6 races on your ballot, that’s 30 minutes total. You’ll be more informed than 90% of Virginia voters.
Step 3: Understand Both Constitutional Amendments (20 Minutes)
This is non-negotiable. Virginia Christian voters MUST understand these amendments because they’re permanent.
Abortion Amendment: The proposed amendment establishes a constitutional “right to reproductive freedom.” In practice, this means:
- Unlimited abortion through all nine months
- Potentially no parental notification for minors
- No state restrictions allowed (even late-term)
- Taxpayer funding may be required

Marriage Amendment: This amendment would redefine marriage in Virginia’s constitution, removing the current definition of marriage as between one man and one woman.

Biblical perspective:
On abortion: “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb… My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret” (Psalm 139:13, 15). God considers the unborn to be persons He’s actively forming.
On marriage: “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?” (Matthew 19:4-5). Jesus defined marriage as one man, one woman, for life.
Virginia Christian voters face a clear choice: Will we enshrine God’s design in our laws, or will we codify rebellion against His Word?
Action: Print these one-page summaries. Bring them to the polls if allowed in your precinct.
Step 4: Pray for Wisdom and Virginia’s Future (Daily Until November 4)
This isn’t optional spiritual language. This is spiritual warfare waged through faithful intercession.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” (James 1:5)
Pray specifically:
For yourself:
- Lord, give me wisdom to vote according to Your Word, not my preferences
- Help me see past political manipulation to truth
- Grant me courage to vote for righteousness even when it’s unpopular
For Virginia:
- God, raise up leaders who fear You and hate corruption
- Expose deception and bring truth to light
- Protect Virginia’s children, families, and churches from unjust laws
- May righteousness prevail on November 4th
For other believers:
- Awaken sleeping Christians who think politics doesn’t matter
- Give boldness to pastors to teach on civic responsibility
- Unite believers across denominations to stand for biblical truth
For our opponents:
- Soften hearts hardened against Your truth
- Bring conviction where there is rebellion
- Save souls, Lord—even those promoting policies You oppose
Furthermore, Paul commanded: “I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions” (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
Notice: We pray for ALL leaders, not just the ones we like. This includes current leaders whose policies we oppose. Consequently, prayer isn’t partisan—it’s obedience.
Practical step: Set a daily alarm for 7:00 PM titled “Pray for Virginia Elections.” When it goes off, stop for 2 minutes and pray.
Step 5: Commit to Vote and Help 5 Others Do the Same (Now Through November 4)
Here’s the final step: Make voting non-negotiable.
Your commitment:
- Put November 4th on your calendar in permanent ink
- Set a reminder alarm for November 3rd: “Tomorrow: VOTE”
- Plan your logistics now:
- What time will you vote? (Before work? Lunch break? After work?)
- Where is your polling location? (Check your voter registration)
- What will you bring? (Photo ID required in Virginia, sample ballot helpful)
- Who else in your household needs to vote? (Coordinate together)
Your influence:
However, don’t stop with yourself. Scripture calls us to build up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12). Therefore, your faith community needs you.
Challenge yourself: Help 5 other Virginia Christian voters prepare.
Send this article to:
- Your spouse or family members
- Your small group or Bible study
- Your pastor or church leaders
- Christian friends who might not vote
- A believer you haven’t talked to in a while
Include this message:
“I’m committed to voting biblically on November 4th, and I want to help you do the same. Virginia is deciding permanent constitutional amendments on abortion and marriage. Please take 10 minutes to visit Virginia Christian Voter Guide and get prepared. Can I count on you to vote?”
Why this matters:
In 2023, several Virginia House of Delegates races were decided by fewer than 100 votes. If every engaged Christian helped just 5 others vote, we could change outcomes in dozens of races.
Moreover, this is how the early church operated. They didn’t wait for programs or professionals. Instead, believers personally invested in each other’s spiritual growth and civic faithfulness.
What Happens If You Don’t Do These Steps?
Let me paint the picture:
November 4th arrives. You wake up intending to vote. However, you never researched the candidates. You don’t know what the amendments actually say. Consequently, you feel overwhelmed standing in the voting booth.
You skip the races you don’t recognize. You guess on the amendments based on the confusing ballot language. You leave feeling uncertain whether you voted biblically.
Or worse: You decide it’s too complicated and stay home entirely.
Meanwhile, highly motivated voters on the other side show up prepared, organized, and committed. They vote in every race. They vote “yes” on both amendments. Furthermore, they bring others with them.
The amendments pass. Unlimited abortion and redefined marriage become permanently embedded in Virginia’s constitution. Leaders who oppose biblical values win by margins smaller than the number of Christians who stayed home.
And Virginia groans.
What Happens If You DO These Steps?
Now imagine this:
You spend one hour this week completing Steps 1-3. You print your research. You set your daily prayer alarm. Additionally, you text 5 believers and challenge them to prepare.
November 4th arrives. You wake up confident. You know exactly who you’re voting for and why. Moreover, you’ve measured every candidate against biblical principles.
You vote early, before work. You’re in and out in 15 minutes because you prepared. Furthermore, you text your 5 friends: “Did you vote yet?”
That afternoon, you learn that 4 of your 5 friends voted. They each influenced others. Consequently, your one hour of preparation multiplied into dozens of biblical votes.
The amendments fail. Pro-life, pro-family, pro-liberty candidates win tight races. Therefore, Virginia’s children, families, and churches are protected.
And Virginia rejoices because “when the righteous increase, the people rejoice” (Proverbs 29:2).
Your Decision Point
Virginia Christian voters stand at a crossroads. One path leads to faithful stewardship. The other leads to regret.
“So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin” (James 4:17).
You now know the right thing to do. You have the tools. You have the plan. You have 11 days.
Therefore, will you act?
