Creation Bullet Series: Destroying Darwinism, One Bullet at a Time
“The simple believes every word, but the prudent considers well his steps.” — Proverbs 14:15
Original Creation Bullet #13 by Bill Nowers:
Sometimes logic is preempted by dogmatic belief. In any controversy, opposing participants are frequently so set in their views that they fail to consider any real evidence in opposition. Let’s take a look at a completely unrelated incident.
Someone broke through a small window at night and robbed a local liquor store. Several witnesses said they saw Joe in the vicinity that night. Joe was found at home, slightly drunk, and with no alibi. He had a slight cut on his right hand he couldn’t explain. The circumstantial evidence was conclusive. Joe was guilty and everyone knew it.
One young detective noticed that Joe weighed 300 pounds and the only broken window used to gain entry was far too small for Joe to have climbed through. He couldn’t possibly have done it. So you think the detective was a hero? Wrong. He was fired for challenging what everyone believed. Once convicted by circumstantial evidence, truth does not matter.
Fiction you say? So now consider evolution. Most scientists believe in Darwinian evolution. All of the major schools and major scientific organizations believe it is a fact. The DNA of animals and humans is similar. Dinosaurs and birds have three toes. The circumstantial evidence is overwhelming.
But then comes Michael Behe and his book Darwin’s Black Box. Behe proved that the microscopic complexity of living cells is so complex it couldn’t possibly have occurred by gradual evolution. Intelligent Design had to be true. So is Michael Behe a hero? Not on your life. His evidence — which is scientifically irrefutable — is challenged by those who have a dogmatic belief in Darwin. Evidence supporting Intelligent Design is banned in many schools and scientific organizations. Some teachers have been fired for teaching it.
We can only present the truth and pray that God will soon touch those that deny the obvious.
Bill Nowers has a gift for finding the perfect everyday story that cuts straight to the heart of a complex argument. The story of Joe — the 300-pound man who couldn’t possibly fit through a small window — is more than a clever anecdote. It is, in fact, a precise picture of how the evolution establishment operates today. Circumstantial evidence piles up. Dissenters get fired. And one simple, inconvenient fact gets buried.
That is no longer just fiction. That is the state of modern science.
When Circumstantial Evidence Becomes a Substitute for Truth
In a courtroom, circumstantial evidence is useful — but it is never supposed to override a fact that proves innocence. The young detective in Bill’s story didn’t need a lengthy rebuttal. He needed only one observation: Joe weighed 300 pounds and the window was too small. Case closed.
The same logic applies to the creation-evolution debate. Evolutionists have accumulated decades of circumstantial evidence — similar DNA between species, shared bone structures, the fossil record, and more. Presented confidently and repeatedly, this evidence feels overwhelming. Therefore, many people simply accept it without question.
However, one fact changes everything: macroevolution has never been observed. Not once. Not a single documented case exists in all of recorded history of one species producing genuinely new genetic information and crossing into a fundamentally different kind of creature. If Darwinian evolution were true, such examples should number in the millions. Instead, there are none.
That is not a gap in the data. That is a verdict.
Michael Behe and the Fact They Cannot Refute
In 1996, biochemist Michael Behe published Darwin’s Black Box, introducing the concept of irreducible complexity to mainstream science. His argument was straightforward: certain biological systems — like the bacterial flagellum — are composed of multiple interdependent parts, each one essential to the system’s function. Remove any single part and the system fails entirely.
For example, the bacterial flagellum functions like a tiny rotary motor, with dozens of protein components working in precise coordination. Remove one piece and it doesn’t work less efficiently — it doesn’t work at all. Gradual, step-by-step Darwinian evolution cannot build such a system, because each intermediate step would be non-functional and therefore provide no survival advantage.
Behe’s conclusion was clear: irreducibly complex systems require an Intelligent Designer. His evidence was drawn not from theology but from molecular biology. And yet, rather than engage the argument honestly, the scientific establishment responded just as Bill’s fictional officials did — they fired the detective. Behe was marginalized, his work dismissed, and in some academic circles the mere mention of Intelligent Design became professional suicide.
No dissent allowed. Sound familiar?
The Pattern Is Always the Same
This is not an isolated incident. As we have seen throughout this Creation Bullet series, the evolutionary establishment has responded to unwelcome evidence with a consistent pattern: ignore it, suppress it, or punish those who raise it.
Piltdown Man was fraudulent for forty years before anyone was allowed to say so publicly. The Haeckel embryo drawings were faked and admitted as such — yet they still appear in biology textbooks. The bombardier beetle presents an irreducibly complex chemical defense system that has never been explained by gradual evolution. In each case, the inconvenient fact is noted, dismissed, and buried under more circumstantial evidence.
As Nowers observes: once a community is convicted by circumstantial evidence, truth does not matter. In that environment, the detective who finds the exonerating fact is not celebrated — he is fired.
That is not science. That is dogma.
One Fact Outweighs a Mountain of Assumptions
Here is the reality that no amount of circumstantial evidence can overcome: life has never been observed arising from non-life. Macroevolution has never been observed producing a new kind of creature. The microscopic complexity of a single living cell — with its billions of precisely sequenced base pairs, its error-correction systems, its protein-folding machinery — cannot be explained by random mutation and natural selection.
These are not religious claims. They are scientific observations. And they point, as Behe argued and as Genesis declared long before him, to an Intelligent Designer.
As believers, we must understand something important: arguments alone do not open blind eyes. Only the Holy Spirit can do that. These Creation Bullets are tools — they remove intellectual obstacles and expose the weakness of the evolutionary case. But it is God who draws people to Himself. Our job is to present the truth faithfully and pray that He uses it.
In Proverbs 14:15 we read, “The simple believes every word, but the prudent considers well his steps.” The prudent person examines the evidence — all of it, including the facts that don’t fit the preferred narrative. And when one honest fact demolishes a mountain of assumptions, the prudent person follows the fact.
Joe couldn’t fit through the window. The cell cannot build itself. The Designer is real.
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” — Genesis 1:1
No circumstantial evidence will ever change that.
