We are inviting our readers to join the Valley Family Forum for their 17th annual “Salute to the Family” dinner which will be held in JMU’s Festival Conference and Student Center ballroom on Friday, July 26, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
As a reminder, our featured speaker is Dr. Alveda King, niece of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., on the theme of “Renewing Our Dream for America”. Like him, she too has a dream of building a nation in which everyone is able to reach across ethnic, racial, religious, and party lines to achieve equality and justice as “One Nation under God”.
In addition, she dreams of a day when America will again respect and protect the inalienable Right to Life of the unborn. To that end, she serves on the pastoral team of Priests for Life and leads their outreach initiative, Civil Rights for the Unborn. She also adds her voice to the “Silent No More” Campaign in which she shares from her own experience with abortion.
