Video includes first-hand testimony from the pro-life students at the Harris rally.

In a recent rally, Vice President Kamala Harris mocked and dismissed pro-life students who were brave enough to speak out for the unborn, proclaiming that “Jesus is Lord” in the face of an audience that largely supported abortion. These students, mocked and escorted out of the event, were not simply protesting a political policy but were standing up for life—a cause that millions of Christians around the world passionately defend; that of the unborn innocent life that has no voice of their own.

The sanctity of life is at the very core of the Christian faith. Psalm 139:13-16 tells us that God knits each of us together in the womb, and Jeremiah 1:5 reminds us that He knows us before we are even born. For us, this is not a mere political issue but a matter of obedience to God’s Word, which affirms the value of every human life, from conception to natural death.

The students who boldly proclaimed Christ’s name were doing the work of God, advocating for the voiceless and the most innocent among us—the unborn. They were met with ridicule and derision from a leader who supports policies that destroy life. But as Christians, we are not surprised when the world mocks us. Jesus Himself said, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first” (John 15:18).

Abortion, as one of the students rightly said, is indeed “a sacrament of Satan.” It stands in direct opposition to everything that is good, true, and holy. While the world may dismiss or ridicule the stance for life, we as Christians know that we are defending the defenseless and honoring the image of God in every human being. Harris’s dismissive comments—telling them they were at the “wrong rally”—reveal the deep divide in this nation on the issue of life.

But we will not be silenced. As millions of Christians across this country continue to stand for the unborn, we do so with the knowledge that we are truly doing God’s work. In a culture that celebrates death, we choose life. And just as Jesus was mocked, so too will we be. But as we endure, we are reminded of Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:11-12: “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven.”

Let us press on, defending the sanctity of life, knowing that our work is not in vain, for we are standing on the side of truth, life, and the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

The mission of the VIRGINIA CHRISTIAN ALLIANCE is to promote moral, social and scientific issues we face today from a Biblical point of view. In addition we will refute and oppose, not with hate, but with facts and humor, the secular cultural abuses that have overridden laws and standards of conduct of the past. We will encourage Christians to participate in these efforts through conferences, development of position papers, booklets and tracts, radio/TV spots, newspaper ads and articles and letters-to-the editor, web sites, newsletters and providing speakers for church and civic meetings.
