“The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof…” — Psalm 24:1

President Donald J. Trump has signed a landmark Executive Order to restore U.S. timber production, enhance forest management, reduce wildfire risks, and protect our national and economic security. This action confronts the radical overreach of federal control and reasserts America’s right to manage her abundant resources for the good of her people.

Restoring Constitutional Authority Over U.S. Timber Production

Few Americans realize that the federal government controls a staggering 30% of all timberland in the United States. Much of this land—once managed by local communities—has been locked away by bureaucratic red tape, environmental lawsuits, and regulations fueled by globalist agendas such as UN Agenda 21, ‘15-minute cities,’ and other United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. These initiatives not only undermine the sovereignty of the United States but also erode the God-given rights and constitutional freedoms of American citizens to use and steward their land.

President Trump’s Executive Order puts the Constitution back in the driver’s seat, directing federal agencies like the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management to cut red tape, streamline permitting, and offer more timber for sale from federal lands. This bold reversal of the “preserve everything, produce nothing” ideology has paralyzed U.S. timber production.

Reviving Biblical Stewardship of God’s Creation

God commanded mankind to “work and keep” the Garden (Genesis 2:15). That’s stewardship—active care and cultivation, not abandonment. Yet federal forest mismanagement has made vast public lands ticking time bombs. Neglected forests become overgrown and dry, fueling massive wildfires that destroy wildlife habitats and nearby communities.

President Trump’s actions reflect a biblical approach to stewardship: responsible use, active management, and blessing others through the fruit of creation. By expanding U.S. timber production, we not only create jobs but also protect forests from destruction and free ourselves from dependence on foreign regimes for critical materials.

U.S. Timber Production and America’s Economic Strength

The American Forest Resource Council (AFRC) rightly applauded this order, noting that better federal forest management will “benefit everyone—especially our rural and tribal communities—by providing jobs, economic opportunity, and restoring environmental health.” Their statement reveals a deeper truth: mismanagement has consequences.

The U.S. imports billions of dollars in lumber that we could produce ourselves. Meanwhile, over 750,000 American jobs in the timber sector remain threatened by federal obstacles, lawsuits, and regulatory delays. These executive actions reduce permitting delays, restore the supply chain for construction materials, and revitalize American communities that depend on timber.

Restoring U.S. timber production isn’t just about economics—it’s about sovereignty, self-reliance, and securing the infrastructure needed for national defense.

Sound Forest Management: A Biblical and National Imperative

Proverbs 13:16 says, “A wise man thinks ahead; a fool doesn’t…” This Executive Order is a course correction, putting foresight and wisdom ahead of ideology and inaction. President Trump previously fixed wildfire suppression funding during his first term, and this action goes further, pushing for thinning, salvage, and efficient approvals under the Endangered Species Act (ESA).

These reforms clear the way for projects that endless consultations and activist litigation would otherwise block. It’s a return to common sense and covenantal responsibility—protecting what God has given us by managing it well.

Conclusion: U.S. Timber Production Is a Test of Freedom

At its core, this is a spiritual issue. Will we surrender God-given resources to unelected environmental elites and UN bureaucrats? Or will we stand, as stewards and citizens, to reclaim what is ours to manage under God?

President Trump’s Executive Order is a necessary blow to radical environmentalism, the global green agenda, and centralized planning schemes. It reminds us that liberty and abundance go hand in hand and that true stewardship requires reverence for creation and courage to act.
