Virginia Teachers/Professors for Life- Statement of Agreement
We firmly believe that life begins at conception, that from the point of conception the life in the womb of a mother is that of a human being, and that the ending of a life by abortion is the taking of the life of a human being. We further believe that our Constitution clearly states that the life of every human being in our nation is protected under the statement that our Creator has endowed each of us certain inalienable rights, the first of these being the right to life – the right to not have our life ended by another except for reason of punishment for the taking of the life of another.
We also believe that abortion is probably the greatest and most serious sin accepted, tolerated and promoted by our culture and our nation, and that we must address this for what it is, that eventually and surely God’s judgment must fall on our nation and people if we continue in this national sin.
We hereby pledge our commitment to promote the sanctity of human life from conception and the truth that abortion is a grievous sin. We also will personally be supportive of all legal efforts to end the legalization of abortion in our nation, and to, when possible, communicate our beliefs to others so that others may come to understand abortion for what it really is: the taking of a human life.
If you are a teacher or professor here in Virginia, we ask you to please download our Statement of Agreement and mail it to us so we can add your name to our list of teachers and professors who affirm the sanctity of life.
