I want to look at why I support President Trump’s travel ban on people from certain countries that pose a danger to our national security. I believe this is an important issue and it is too bad that it has turned into a political circus. We are risking the safety and security of the American people. This article is based upon an interview by a local TV station in Washington State. There have been some changes in the situation since this was recorded.
When I teach on the complexity of the terrorism issue and the teachings of Islam, my goal is to make it as simple as possible. To put it simply, I used to say that there is only one Islam and I have come to realize that is not true. There are actually two forms of Islam. There is the true Islam, Muhammad’s Islam, and there is fake Islam. We could call the fake Islam moderate Islam or reformed Islam. This is the popular term for those who are trying to change the religion.
The fact that there are two forms of Islam causes a lot of confusion because we are getting two mixed messages, You may know some Muslims who are very nice people. They may be great and peaceful people. They are convinced that Islam is a religion of peace. They may be telling you the truth as far as they understand it. They don’t know any better because they have embraced fake Islam.
We have the same issue within Christianity. There are, for example, those preachers who say that our God won’t judge homosexuality and our God won’t send anyone to Hell. My response to those people is, You’re right, you god won’t because he is a god of your imagination, but the God of the Bible will judge. If we want to be true Christians we must warn those who have this distorted view of God.
The real Islam, those who are following the teachings of Muhammad, will be jihadis. Not every true Muslim will have the courage to perform jihad, but the real Muslim will be somehow involved in militant activity because this is what their god and their prophet commands them to do.
Fake Islam has created a lot of confusion. Not every Muslim who is trying to get into our country is following the true Islam. Some of them know what real Islam is about and are trying to get away from it. As Christians, we want to allow these Muslims into our country so we can give them the Gospel, and so we can see them saved. There coming to America is an opportunity for them to be rescued from dark, devilish, and dangerous teaching. This is what Fortress of Faith is about.

We are in an interesting times. We have seen the courts strike down the executive orders of President Trump to temporarily stop travel from certain countries from which we have to way of properly vetting those who come here. The reason I support this ban is really quite simple. In 2001 19 immigrants flew planes into our buildings and killed nearly 3,000 innocent people. We must ask if we are under threat by Islamic immigration into our country. The answer is an obvious YES!
Not every Muslim is out to see us dead. We have a ministry reaching Muslims for Christ. About 8 out of 10 Muslims coming to America are really trying to flee true Islam. They are trying to get away from its tyranny and its oppression.
America is known for our freedom of speech around the world. Muslims don’t have the freedom to speak in their Islamic countries. They are not allowed to ask questions that might seem to cast doubt on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, on their god, Allah, or on Islam. They are considered troublemakers and they quickly get put in their place.
The problem is the 2 out of 10. According to the US State Department, there are 100,000 Muslim immigrants coming into our country every year. Some of these are student visas and short term work visas. In addition to these types of visas, under the Obama administration there were more than 100,000 refugees, the majority of whom are Muslims coming from countries which have a very strong jihadi teaching, and have no real system for vetting who they are. Under current refugee rules it is the United Nations that determines who is coming into our country.
The Obama administration told us that those coming here were the most thoroughly vetted refugees. On paper this may have been true. It takes about 18 months to vet them. The problem is that the majority of them are coming from Syria, which is a broken state with a broken government. There are to records, no police department, and no government that can be consulted to check the veracity of the statements by the refugees.
Obama promised the UN that he would bring in 120,000 refugees in one year. It it takes 18 months to vet them, how can you do this in one year? This should tell us that somehow our vetting process is going to be sidestepped. Half way through they had only vetted some 6,000.
The sad thing is there are those waiting 6 to 8 years, trying to get here legally. Most of us are either immigrants or descendent’s of immigrants who came here legally. We are not against refugees, but we know that the “bad guys” can blend in with them. The majority of the refugees are young men 18-30 years of age. They don’t want to assimilate into our society. This is what concerns me the most. They are coming here with very few job skills. They are coming in at a rapid pace, and it is not fair to our nation.
The issue of assimilation is very important. CAIR is the largest Islamic organization in America. They consider themselves as the civil rights voice for Islam. There offices are just down the street from the White House. It is interesting that they first had their headquarters in Chicago, Obama’s adopted home town, but when Obama became President, they also move to Washington. They are there to lobby Congress to make our laws more Sharia compliant.
In 2006, a California newspaper reported that the founder of CAIR said:
Islam is not in America to be equal to any other religion, but to become dominant. And the god of the Qur’an is to be the only god in this country.
He thought the meeting was Muslim only, and in private they will tell the truth that they try to hide in their public statements. He went on to tell Muslims not to assimilate into this country. They want to come to reap the benefits and privileges, but they don’t want to assimilate. This pattern can be seen all over the world.
Once Muslims become about 2% of the population, they start trying to dominate. The become very loud and demanding. At this point they have begun to control that population of every nation they have gotten into. They have no intention of becoming a part of the society of their host country.
One could be forgiven for thinking that all of the conflict in the Middle East is part of a plan to create a war-torn area to cause the Western governments to open their doors to these Muslim refugees. This is exactly what ISIS has claimed to be doing.
Many of these refugees have been flooding into Europe and right after the surge last summer we had attacks in France, Germany, Belgium, etc. All of these can be traced to people who came through the refugee program. At least 1.5 million Muslims have poured into Europe through this program.
If someone tries to leave Islam, death is the sentence carried out against them. All Muslims know that, whether they are a moderate, a fundamentalist, or even a non practicing Muslim, once a Muslim, always a Muslim. If you are born to a Muslim father, you are a Muslim. The Sharia law on apostasy is very clear. The oldest and most revered Sharia law book is known as the “Reliance of the Traveller.” Section o deals with the offenses, and in o-8.1-2 says:
When a person has reached puberty, and is sane, voluntarily apostatizes from Islam, he deserves to be killed. The Caliph, or his representative must give him an opportunity to repent and return to Islam. If he does, it is accepted from him, but if he refuses he is immediately killed.
Section o-8.4 says:
There is no indemnity for killing an apostate, for any expiation for killing someone who deserves to die.
Every Muslim knows that Islamic law says that if they leave Islam, they must die.
In September, 2014, Great Britain allowed 7 courts of Sharia law to be set up. By the end of the year there were 85, and now there are over 100. The UK is only 6% Muslim, so 6% is not under British law. The UK is a sovereign and powerful nation. Because of allowing Muslims into the country, and bending to their demands, they have said that our laws apply to everyone in our country, except Muslims. This is limited to family law and civil law. Criminal law is not yet included, but there are plenty of cases where husbands have been raping and beating their wives, which are criminal offenses, and the British government looks the other way and says they consider this to be family issues.
It was not the jihadis that brought Sharia law to the UK, it was the moderates. Islam is Islam, and although some are trying to change it, Islam demands Sharia and cannot exist without it. The Muslims said, you allow freedom of religion, but you won’t allow us this part of our religion. People don’t realize that Islam is much more than just a religion. It has a government component, a court component, an education component, a finance component, a military component, etc. Muhammad was building at kingdom, and he used a religion to manipulate people.
There is a lot wrong with Sharia law. It demands that Allah rule every part of ones life. There is no freedom of speech. You can’t choose which god you worship, or if you worship at all. There are 5 freedoms given to us in the First Amendment. Sharia law would abolish all of them.
Let’s get back to the travel ban. It was President Obama that identified the 7 states where the restrictions would apply. It seems that the far left is against anything that President Trump tries to do. There are 56 Islamic states, 57 if you count Palestine as a state. This ban is only for 7 of those nations. The only nation mentioned in the initial executive order was Syria. The words Muslim, Islam, jihad, Sharia, are not mentioned in the order.
The left is just playing political games with this. They are using the establishment clause in the First Amendment which says Congress shall make no laws establishing a religion. They try to say that if we ban Muslims, we are favoring one religion, and therefore establishing a religion.
The Constitution gives the President full power for foreign policy. In addition to this, Congress has given him further powers to deal with those coming into our country. Here is the law (Section 8-1182 – F):
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens, or of any class of aliens, into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may, by proclamation, and for such period as he deems necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens, or any class of aliens, as immigrants or non-immigrants, or impose on that entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.
This is pretty clear. The courts are playing a partisan game, and the courts are not supposed to be partisan. They are actually acting in an illegal manner.
President Obama wanted to rule by judicial legislation by putting all these liberal judges in place, like the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. This court was set up in the 1800s and should be split because it covers too large an area. The American public is not stupid. They know that Obama has strategically placed these liberal judges to carry out the agenda of the left. We keep encouraging people to get out and vote and it only takes one of these judges to strike something down and overrule the will of the people.
I think people feel endangered, and rightfully so. We don’t know who these refugees are, and we are told to accept them. They are in Jr. High Schools with our young girls and doing all kinds of social experimentation. It is frightening because it threatens our way of life, and our very lives. It seems that there is one incident after another where someone with the name Muhammad, or some other Muslim name assaults one of our young girls. People don’t understand that this is rooted in the belief system which is called Islam.
There is some good news about the Muslims who are coming here. As I said, 8 out or 10 Muslims who come here, come to get away from the tyranny of Islam. This opens the door to reaching them with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is hard to get the Gospel into their countries because it is not permitted by their governments. When they are in their home countries they have the opposition of family and government, as well as the whole Islamic culture. In America two of the shackles are removed, and only the family is left.
Through the ministry of Fortress of Faith, we have seen some 80 Muslims come to Christ. This is only our starting point. We are traveling around the nation teaching people how to engage Muslims with the Gospel.
The whole purpose of the executive orders is to protect ourselves from the entry of terrorists into our country. It is only temporary, until we can develop the proper vetting process for those from these countries. These procedures used to be there, until Obama took them away. They are only common sense.
This political and partisan stuff that is going on in our courts has to stop. It puts every one living in America in danger.
As Christians, we must prayerfully seek opportunities to engage Muslims with the Gospel.
