Story of Father’s Day – June 15, 2014

Story of Father’s Day – June 15, 2014

He shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers. Malachi 4:6 Father's Day is a beautiful festival that acknowledges and appreciates the important role played by a father in raising the child and consequently building a stronger society. Though fathers have been revered at all times by civilizations across the globe ironically what was missing until the last century was the official recognition of the significance of fathers in one's life. Father's Day story is the tale of realization of the need for a Father's Day festival primarily by Ms Sonora Louise Smart Dodd of Washington. Virginia Christian Alliance Wishes Everyone a Blessed Memorial Day

Virginia Christian Alliance Wishes Everyone a Blessed Memorial Day

Memorial Day: The Price of Freedom May 2014  Courtesy of the Family Research Council Freedom truly is a gift from God.  Words engraved on Jefferson’s Memorial reflect that truth: “God who gave us life gave us liberty at the same time.”  And freedom is foundational to who we are as a people.  It is a part of the American DNA.  But freedom is not free. Jesus Himself said: “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” (John 15:13) Freedom requires sacrifice. And that is true for our nation. The cost of freedom is great.  The fight for freedom is never over.  We must fight to win it, and then we must fight to keep it. Read More
