Evolution’s Heroes
Dr. Ernst Haeckel was one of the darlings of the evolutionists. Many years ago (150), in a far away land (Germany), Dr. Haeckel determined that the embryos of various animals and humans appeared to be close enough physically to prove they all evolved from the same species. His research showed they really weren’t that close in physical appearance, so he doctored up some of his drawings to prove his case.
Unfortunately, he was caught cheating, and when confronted with faking evidence by a University Court at Jena, he admitted it, and claimed hundreds of biologists lie under the same circumstances. He was punished (I think he lost his dessert for a week)
Dr. Haeckel was not ahead of his time and was not familiar with the evolutionist’s ability to back things up in time. Consider: I will now reveal the true similarity of all species embryos. The early human embryo looks like this (.). The early fish embryo looks like this (.) The early elephant embryo looks like this (.). You get the picture. Dr. Haeckel only had to back his embryos in time a little to prove his point.
But as similar as the embryos were physically, the genetic information within each dot-sized embryo varied from the smallest bird to the largest elephant. A feat no modern computer designer could even visualize.
But all was not lost, for Dr. Haeckel introduced the popular phrase “Ontogeny Recapitulates Phylogeny,” which, as everyone knows, means that we all go through the various stages of our ancestors as we develop in the womb. The good Doctor is criticized with faint praise or praised with faint criticism in our biology books today. His drawings still appear. Why he hasn’t been thrown into the dustbin of history, we will never know. There is something in the water that causes us to hang on to old sayings like the one, “Save your Confederate money, the South’s going to rise again”.
But seriously, if the evolutionists couldn’t honor false and irrelevant heroes, they wouldn’t have any at all. There is a simple answer to the whole issue. God created everything.
Darwinism has long relied on heroes with shaky foundations, but few are as bold—or fraudulent—as Dr. Ernst Haeckel. In this bullet, Bill Nowers unmasks the truth behind one of evolution’s most enduring deceptions: the doctored embryo drawings used to support common ancestry.
Haeckel’s Hoax: Drawn to Deceive
In the late 19th century, German biologist Ernst Haeckel presented a series of embryo drawings showing striking similarities between humans and animals. He claimed these images proved evolution from a common ancestor.
The only problem? He faked the drawings.
When caught by a university court, Haeckel admitted his fraud and excused it by saying “hundreds of biologists” did the same. Yet his illustrations still appear in biology books today, used as visual proof of evolution.
Lies endure when they support the preferred worldview. Truth is cast aside when it points to God.
The Dot Illusion: Same Shape, Different Code
Nowers cleverly reduces the evolutionary claim to a parody: human, fish, and elephant embryos all look like a dot (.). But inside that dot lies billions of lines of precise genetic code, each uniquely designed to form entirely different creatures.
The similarity of external shape is meaningless. What matters is the blueprint within. That blueprint didn’t write itself. It was written by a Designer.
Ontogeny Recapitulates… Nonsense
Haeckel also coined the now-debunked phrase: “Ontogeny Recapitulates Phylogeny”—the idea that as a baby grows in the womb, it relives its evolutionary ancestry (gill slits, tails, etc.). This idea has been thoroughly discredited, yet still lingers in classrooms, clung to by those who prefer myth to accountability.
As Nowers jokes: if evolutionists didn’t celebrate false heroes, they’d have none at all.
Time to Throw Out the Trash
It’s long past due to retire evolutionary icons built on lies. Haeckel’s hoax doesn’t point to science—it points to a desperation to escape the truth. That truth is this:
“In the beginning, God created.” No fraud required.
