Understanding the BLM Movement: A Primer

There are many Americans, especially Christians, who struggle with understanding exactly what the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement is all about. What does the organization stand for? Who runs it? How is it funded? Why is there so much violence and looting at BLM protests?

It’s easy to get confused over whether BLM is a legitimate organization sincerely protesting perceived injustices or a group of anti-American Marxists out to destroy our great country.
I have two resources from American Family Association that clearly and concisely break down the truth about this dangerous organization. By taking just a few minutes, every Christian can learn the truth about the BLM agenda and how to biblically respond to it.

First, Meeke Addison’s article, 3 Reasons Black Lives Matter Is Incompatible With Biblical Christianity, takes on BLM’s leadership and their anti-biblical beliefs. Meeke is assistant director of special initiatives for AFA and co-host of AFR’s popular talk show, Airing the Addisons.

Second, on his program, The Hamilton Corner, Abraham Hamilton III outlines BLM’s connection to Marxism, witchcraft, and feminism. BLM organization co-founder Patrisse Cullors admitted that she and fellow co-founder Alicia Garza are “trained Marxists.” The truth is that the organization’s leaders are trained in other things too –– which you’ll find out on the YouTube broadcast of Abe’s program.

I encourage you to take a look at these trustworthy resources. They will help you understand what Americans and Christians are facing in the midst of national unrest.

I also want to invite you to sign up to receive The Daily Stand, our timely blogs delivered in your email box each weekday from writers you can trust, addressing culture, promoting faith, and defending the family.
