The organization GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) proudly states on the main page of their website that they are “changing culture by working directly with news media, entertainment media, cultural institutions and social media”. When Phil Robertson quoted God’s Word and expressed his personal opinions regarding homosexuality in a GQ article, GLAAD threw a hissy fit and scared A & E into suspending Phil indefinitely.

I rarely agree with a homosexual however, when Harvey Levin of TMZ was interviewed on On The Record w/ Greta Van Susteren, I was impressed. Harvey tweeted “I’m gay and I don’t agree with Phil, but he has a right to his believes [sic]…it’s not hate-based…it’s religious…misdirected, but his right”. Harvey went on to point out the hypocrisy of GLAAD by saying that the pro-LGBT organization prides itself on tolerance, unless you disagree with them. Harvey truly understands what America is about regarding the First Amendment. We don’t have to agree with everyone’s opinion but everyone has a right to express theirs, and that includes Christians. I also agree that A & E has the right to hire and fire whomever they wish but I think that a Christian organization would have a massive legal battle on its hands if they fired someone for being gay. Again, the hypocrisy is off the charts.

What is so angering to most Christians is that we started this country and now it has been hijacked by Sodomites. In my opinion, it’s our own fault. Many years ago the Church in America fell under the spell of the “Seeker Friendly” movement in which not offending anyone became the new gospel. The Church largely fell silent on moral issues. Organizations such as GLAAD happily filled the void to change the culture by working directly with news media, entertainment media, cultural institutions, and social media. This perverted minority has also managed to get laws passed that force their agenda down the throats of everyone. They proudly proclaim that they are out to change the culture and we have now discovered that they will mercilessly attack anyone who disagrees with them.

Harvey is correct. Their hypocrisy has been exposed. Make no mistake about it, dark forces of satan, in the form of Political Correctness, are at work behind these LGBT organizations. This dark spirit of Political Correctness has also infected massive amounts of Churches. Not only will GLAAD attack you if you quote certain Scriptures, but many churches will boldly chastise you as well. What are Christians to do?

Matthew 11:12 states that “…the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” Notice that God is not talking about physical violence. He is talking about spiritual violence and that is where we must battle—in personal repentance, prayer and fasting. After we have asked God to cleanse and change us, we then engage the culture and we must do this aggressively (again, in the spiritual sense, not in the physical sense). I believe we’re seeing the physical manifestation of that violence in the heavenly realms. The moment Phil Robertson spoke God’s Word, the powers of darkness were confronted, and they screamed and started fighting back. Yes, we’re in America and Christians, unlike most other countries, have the freedom to speak up, even when GLAAD doesn’t like it as well as their allies (intended or unintended) in some Churches.

Jesus told us that He was sending us out like sheep among wolves (Matthew 10:16). He also promised us the Holy Spirit to go with us and He said that He will not leave us nor forsake us. So, let’s move out with Jesus and see His Kingdom come and His will be done. Speak up, write letters, write blogs, send emails, confront, refuse, hire and fire based on your freedom to do so as well as God’s conviction in your heart.

About the Author

Virginia Christian Alliance
The mission of the VIRGINIA CHRISTIAN ALLIANCE is to promote moral, social and scientific issues we face today from a Biblical point of view. In addition we will refute and oppose, not with hate, but with facts and humor, the secular cultural abuses that have overridden laws and standards of conduct of the past. We will encourage Christians to participate in these efforts through conferences, development of position papers, booklets and tracts, radio/TV spots, newspaper ads and articles and letters-to-the editor, web sites, newsletters and providing speakers for church and civic meetings.
